The Department of the Interior has reversed a Bush administration logging policy that would have greatly reduced the protected area of the spotted owl. It was determined that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management violated the Endangered Species Act by failing to consult federal biologists before implementing the logging plan.
Finally, after eight years of science being derided and federal lands being leased for oil drilling, there is an administration in power that appears ready to protect our environment. This is truly an important time for us to take responsibility for our actions that impact the other inhabitants of this planet. I applaud the Dept. of Interior on its decision. Read more here.
